These are the common and mature types of water slides. The open body slides (we call it Tobosplash) and the enclosed body slides (we call it Aquatubo), these category of water slides are the basic elements for a water park
Tobosplash
(traditional open body slide)
This water slide is 44" wide and the regular length goes from 100 feet a short one to 330 feet the long ones. The height of the platform varies depending on the length of the water slide from around 15 feet high to 50 feet high.
Characteristics:
Users ages/height: Form 10 to 60 years old or from 3'6" and higher
Speed: Low to Medium
Gradient: 11% to 13%
Arrival: Splash pool or run out
Water requirements: 710 gallons per minute
Design: Limited. This water slide is open therefore safety limits the gradient and the width of the curves
Colors: We use solid colors. We recommend to use 2 colors for the water slide, one color for the inside (the sliding area) and a different color for the outside. We consider the minerals in water for the inside color and we use long lasting colors in the outside.
Aquatubo 32"
The Aquatubo is an enclosed body slide with a 32" diameter. They can be 20 feet long to 330 feet long. The height of the platform varies depending on the length of the water slide from around 10 feet high to 50 feet high.
Characteristics:
Users ages/height: Form 10 to 60 years old or from 3'6" and higher
Speed: Medium to High
Gradient: 13% to 52%
Arrival: Splash pool or run out
Water requirements: 400 gallons per minute
Design: Very Adaptable. This water slide is enclosed therefore the gradient can vary a lot and the width of the curves can be smaller so we can adapt to indoor places, different platform heights, desired speeds and others
Colors: We can use solid colors or translucent colors. If we use solid color, no matter the color of the outside, the inside will be totally dark. This water slides are usually known as black holes and they are very exciting but intimidating
We can use translucent colors to let the light go through. This is very interesting because people can see the user sliding inside the Aquatubo and the user can see the way that he/she is going.
